Epic Hunting in GA!!
Being an outdoors(wo)man for me is more than just a passion. It's a lifestyle. This past January 2020, for my birthday, I was able to head up to GA with a great group of friends.
Camo queen!
One of the first bucks I ever laid eyes on.. got some hell back at camp for not shooting this one lol
My favorite stand at River Place the buck was all the way at the end of this lane
Success!!! What an insane hunt under the craziest conditions. When I got into the stand, the 4th day in the afternoon, I didn’t expect I was going to see anything. It was raining and 75 degrees.
I’d been seeing a lot of bucks but none that I knew was for me. None made my eyes widen. 30 minutes in I look to my left and I see this monster!! .. all the way at the end of the lane. Staring right at me.
I knew he was the one! I had to zoom my scope all the way in and try to steady myself. My longest shot ever at 167 yards. 🤮😳😳 Then it started raining hard. I waited 30 minutes to check the area for signs. I saw nothing. But I knew that I had shot him. I made it back to the stand right before it started to pour! I was so worried that any blood would get washed away. Nothing worse than not being able to harvest your animal.
So... after 2 hours of anxious waiting & praying to anyone that would hear me including my grandfather.. the gang showed up. We found him 50 yards away. (I cried) A second shot later and I thanked God and him for giving me this incredible experience and meat to feed my family. A huge thank you to @rd_tactics for making this happen and finding my deer and @_riverplacehuntin for being incredible hosts. 200lbs, 4.5 year old, 7 point shot with a 700 Remington, 243 cal at 167 yards .
I processed all the meat myself and have shared venison with my friends and family. Cannot wait to go back!
